Thank you for all that you have contributed towards Creating Hope International’s efforts to raise scholarships for Afghan students. School is currently out of session, but will resume in April. Once school resumes we will award the scholarships to deserving students.
Primary school students will receive tuition to a private school, books and a uniform. Through GlobalGiving and other funding sources, we have been able to raise enough funds for 20 scholarships for girls to attend private schools. These girls come from families who value education, and are doing their best to make an education a reality for their daughters but need a little help to pay school fees, purchase books and provide the girls with books. Once the scholarships have been awarded, we will be updating you with more information about these students.
Creating Hope has been able to raise funds for three university scholarships. The scholarships will go to two young men studying in Herat province, and one young woman who will be selected in April. These funds will be used to help the student pay for travel to and from school, as well as books and other costs associated with attending a university in Afghanistan.
Finally, we were able to fund a small scholarship to two Afghan students studying in the United States. These funds will be used for the students to purchase books, as well as pay for travel and any other incidental expenses they incur during their studies.
Thank you again for your generous support of CHI’s scholarships for Afghan students. We truly believe that you have helped change the course of these students lives with your generosity.
