Insecurity Curbed

By a male, under 16 years old, in Kakamega East, Kenya
Map of INSECURITY CURBED In my home area, insecurity was always the song of everyone; the rich, the poor, the old, the young, the women and the men.No day would ever pass without hearing of crying women and children who had been robbed of their houses broken into.In every baraza the people only lamented on lack of enough security. The chief was unable to re the situation so he decided to write a letter to the ministry of internal security asking for the establishment of a police camp at our market centre. It only took eight months and the reply came building materials started arriving and soon construction was underway. The police were then sent to come and stay with us.They then started working .many business operated fully and freely not fearing anything and this boosted the economy. Many boys were taught and locked up in cells and jails for claims that they were thugs who kept on terrorising our community. Now everything is good and we now live like free citizens in their own country not like thieves who are not free and comfortable.
