Share Project is struggling with lack of funding to fight Covid in the community, which is rapidly spreading in Pallisa due to the new highly infection Delta strain. The majority of Uganda's population lives in very poor, rural settings with no proper health infrastructure and medical staffing, nor agencies with the ability to keep the virus contained. We are appealing for funds to provide relief and purchase life saving protection and sanitation supplies for our students, staff and community.
It has been over a year since Covid-19 forced the world to shut down. Currently, the new Delta strain is spreading quickly through our unvaccinated community and the country's most vulnerable populations. Uganda is now seeing many people die from the disease and starvation in poor and remote areas, including children and families from our school due to a lack of work and a severely damaged economy.
Share Project is asking for donations to help provide relief and protection to the children and their families during this difficult period. Donations will provide masks and soap for protecting against Covid, food supplies for households, and costs for ambulance services and medical treatment for emergency cases.
If successful, we can help eliminate the threat of Covid in our community and stop its spread in the longterm. This will help keep the school open and the children learning and cared for.
