We provide life-saving nutrition to 150 orphaned children in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. These children have lost parents due to conflict, displacement, or disaster. Through balanced meals, nutrition education, and health monitoring, we help them grow strong physically and mentally while empowering caregivers with food security tools for lasting impact.
Decades of armed conflict, displacement, and volcanic disasters have left thousands of children in Goma without parents, shelter, or access to proper nutrition. At the LEVEMOI Orphanage Center, over 150 orphans face daily hunger and severe malnutrition. Without immediate and sustained nutritional support, these children are at risk of stunted growth, weakened immunity, and irreversible cognitive delays.
This project will provide 3 balanced meals per day, fortified with essential vitamins and minerals, to 150 orphans at LEVEMOI Center. Nutrition workshops will train caregivers in food preparation, hygiene, and child health monitoring. Monthly checkups will track each child's physical and cognitive development, ensuring consistent progress. The project also promotes food sustainability through local sourcing.
By improving nutrition for 150 orphans, this project helps build a healthier, more resilient generation in Goma. Well-fed children learn better, grow stronger, and are more likely to become productive community members. Training caregivers promotes long-term food security, and awareness campaigns spread essential nutrition knowledge across the community, breaking the cycle of malnutrition for years to come.
