Club Cristiano La Esperanza (CCLE) provides more than 300 children from the communities of Villa de Guadalupe (formerly La Chureca, the dump community) and Pantanal in Nicaragua with a high-quality preschool program, after-school elementary school tutoring program, feeding program, and high school scholarship programs. All participating students will also receive one meal; preschool and kindergarten will get a nutritious breakfast.
Nicaragua's education system has come under international criticism as one of the worst in the Western Hemisphere. The children in the communities we serve have to overcome enormous obstacles including severe poverty, malnutrition, and abuse on top of a horrible public school system. Club Cristiano La Esperanza want to help these children succeed in all areas and at every phase of life so that they can get a quality education and go on to change their country.
Our goal is to make the biggest impact possible at each stage of life. During the morning program we will help provide preschoolers with an enriching headstart program. In the afternoon we will tutor elementary school students to help supplement their education, and we will support high school students with additional tutoring and resources they need through our scholarship program. Our staff and volunteers are committed to investing in our students' academic, emotional, and spiritual lives.
It is a commonly held truth that education is a huge part of the future success of a nation. Breaking the chain of intergenerational poverty and hopelessness will not happen without it. Club Cristiano La Esperanza is located in Managua, Nicaragua's capital and most populous city. If change is going to happen for this nation, it will start here. By encouraging and enabling the success of more than 300 young people every year Club Esperanza will be part of that change.
