Nicholas is an enrolled nurse thanks to your dedication to his education.

Nicholas (cream suit) at medical School

You helped Nicholas overcome many obstacles in his life. Nicholas was born in a poor family and lost his mother and father at a young age. After both of his parents died, Nicholas went to live with a relative that treated him very poorly making Nicholas want to end his life. Luckily, Nicholas’ aunt stepped in to take care of him and enrolled him in Nyaka Primary School. After starting at Nyaka, Nicholas’ grades suffered because of the trauma he suffered before living with his aunt. Nicholas’ home life with his aunt soon turned sour. He felt hopeless and like that world was against him. BUT because of you, Nicholas kept hope that things would get better.

Things did get better! The teachers in your amazing schools came alongside Nicholas. They mentored and tutored him so he could do his best. Nicholas’ grades got better and he went on to pursue his dream of being a nurse. He started nursing school in 2016 and finished in two years. Nicholas wanted to be a nurse because his parents died from a lack of access to healthcare. He grew up seeing sick people in his community suffer and he wanted to take care of them.

Nicholas gives you credit for his success. Saying, “Being educated by Nyaka has changed my life. I no longer feel rejected and I am out of danger. If I had not got the Nyaka Scholarship, I guess I wouldn’t be in this world. I am now the happiest man, full of joy and proud of being a medical worker.”

You changed Nicholas’ life. Thank you!
