Children are giving birth, child brides have no formal education, face pressure for bearing child. Ignorance from SRH education lead them to complicated pregnancies. There is need to increase the human security of adolescent girls who are married or are at-risk of an early marriage living in 24 small and medium-sized villages of Tharparkar through entertainment education,legal awareness & engaging 100 local community leaders to support in mobilizing social & political will to enforce law.
Early marriages, forced marriages, sale of girls for marriages are common in desert area of Tharparkar, drivers of these inhuman activities are deep rooted in society and unregistered Nikahkhuwan solemnize child marriage. There are Early marriage law 2014 and Hindu Marriage bill, but not implemented. Children who have not SRH education, they bear children, girls school drop out ratio is increasing. 1200 Teenage girls will be protected from marriages, 320 girls will continue education
Formation of a support network comprised 144 mother educators, vocational training opportunities and improved healthcare access in the 24 villages. Mother educators will host 96 educational talks, 28 advocacy meetings and 61 home visits, reaching more than 50,000 people Entertainment education to educate illiterate population: 14 film screenings, 14 drama forums, and 46 thematic folk musical performances, which ultimately reached more than 200,000 people. established 13 basic literacy centres
1200 girls will be prevented from early marriage so that they can continue their education and enjoy childhood. 144 mothers will be well educated and trained, there will be trained human force on SRH issues and family planning. Community networks will react on child marriage , legal education will influence local policy makers and police stations to implement child marriage laws.
