Deaf Students Excel In Computer Class

By Sharon Doherty | Project Leader

Computer Coding and Robotics Just Keeps Getting Better!

Natalia, our newest instructor who joined EEESMA School for the Deaf full-time in June, specializes in guiding each student towards acheiving their highest potential in computer knowledge. We are excited to update you on the impressive progress of two of our students who have excelled under her guidance.

Angelica, who previously took a little more time before progressing into preparatoria (high school) due to academic challenges, has made significant strides over the past two years. Through specialized tutoring in written Spanish and computer skills, she is now well-prepared to enter high school at the beginning of the new school year in August. Angelica, aged 18, is a dynamic and agile thinker who enjoys customizing computers, drawing, and design. Her passion for programming shines through as she adeptly organizes code and brings ideas to life, particularly through robotics. Her creativity and determination drive her to innovate and overcome technological challenges with logic and skill, making her a standout student in class.

Jacobo, a 10-year-old student in upper primary school at EEESMA, has shown a remarkable enthusiasm for technology. A quick learner, he consistently completes his class activities with diligence. Basic programming has become one of his favorite subjects, allowing him to create animated stories using his creativity and coding skills. Jacobo's love for drawing complements his interest in digital design and animation, while his fascination with building robots underscores his curiosity and active participation in class. He is known for his kindness, sociability, and willingness to help classmates.

We are so proud of these students and are truly delighted by the progress they and their classmates have made and invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements. Your support has been crucial in sustaining our computer skills workshops, which play a vital role in leveling the educational playing field for young Deaf students. Thank you so much.

July 10th is Bonus Day when each donation of $100 or more is matched by GlobalGiving to a maximum of 40% to an aggregate total of $2,000. Please make a donation on July 10th helping to ensure the students at EEESMA School for the Deaf continue receiving this vital and worthwhile technology instruction.

We all know computer tech is the future for young people, please support our kids so they may continue with computer skills learning into the future.
