Challenge

Bawum community has ten thousand people with no hospital, no health center neither private nor public. Thus, 80% of the people help themselves with unprescribed drugs or traditional unresearched means which at times cause health complications and even death. The roads to the area are not accessible and more than 70% of the people live below the poverty margin (USD 1.25) making access to external health facilities difficult for the population,

Solution

Quality and affordable health care will be provided in the centre to fight common diseases, infant mortality and provide maternity services. There will be Outreach campaigns and regular follow-up for those unable to reach health facilities and free services for orphans. Health education campaigns as a response to prominent health issues affecting the people, with focus on infant mortality. With your support we will put up a first structure with 4 rooms, 8 beds, a laboratory and a pharmacy.

Long-Term Impact

The project will save lives of infants and improve on the reproductive health of women and girls; Enable over 40,000 people of Bawum and communities around to improve and increase their economic productivity as healthy people are more active. It will reduce the spread of diseases like hepatitis, Diabetes, malaria, tuberculosis and others until they are gradually eliminated and bring social, economic and cultural development.
