Help AmeriCorps Change the Landscape of Nashville

Our robust and exceptional group of AmeriCorps participants helped out other organizations on one of their days off work in January. While the work they do within the walls of Martha O'Bryan Center is extraordinary, they still found time to contribute to the needs of several partner agencies helping with painting projects, trash pick-up, beautification work, and even serving neighboring communities outside of Martha O'Bryan Center.

Through community service, unity, and creating solutions to social problems, this group of AmeriCorps participants are working diligently to transform the landscape of Nashville. Whether they're helping in a crisis (tornado relief, pandemic support, food insecurity, flood damage) or on a daily basis through our Family Success Network, they are making a difference daily in the lives of Nashvillians. 

Our AmeriCorps members participated in the National 9/11 Day of Service. This day of service is to honor the memory of those lost by coming together through volunteering to create community. Our dedicated members arrived to volunteer at 6:30 am(!) on their day off.

Our members volunteered alongside future homeowners and professional contractors to build framing on homes for Nashville families -- many of which are first-time homeowners. Our members worked to build framing for housing—although nobody had experience in this, our members jumped at the opportunity to assist, all with a smile. There wasn't a single complaint the entire day, even when they got drenched in rain in the afternoon.

Our AmeriCorps members continue to change the landscape of Nashville by supporting families through their daily jobs and through their volunteer hours.
