Women's Empowerment

Dear Supporters,
Womans Empowerment is expanding as we had over 70 different women coming through our doors.
The main attraction is still computer skills where they learn the basic skills of a computer and using programs such as word, powerpoint and excel.
In addition to the standard computer lessons that happens Tuesday-Thursday, we have been running workshops in financial management. Here we learned the basics of budgeting, savings and encouraging the women to log their spendings. Further, we are continuously running workshops in interview skills and CV writing skills to again improve the women's employability.
In July we ran a fundraising event for the women, where we raised £685 through arranging an Amazing Race. The race took place in Gordon's Bay where our volunteers and the women which we worked with were divided into teams and were running around Gordon's Bay looking for clues and completing challenges all to raise awareness and funds for our women's empowerment program. We are currently encouraging and helping women to complete business plans so that we can assess their ideas and potentially issue our first loan.
Thank you for all your help keeping this project going!
With Gratitude,
GVI Gordons Bay
