The number of girls who continue to secondary school in Cameroon remain lower than those who finished primary as a result of cultural norms and gender differences. Currently more than 24% of young girls in Cameroon are now mothers and drop out of school to care for themselves and their family, even at a young age. Because of this, young girls are unable to get a chance to learn. Without their education, they are left in a cycle of hardships and missed opportunities.
CAMAAY provides nutrition, clothes, and supplies to young moms who wish to continue their studies. These young girls will be able to return to school and pursue their education while also providing for their families.
The project will educate young moms allowing them to rise out of poverty, which will provide for heir families' health and well-being.
