EarthShare Oregon is in the midst of receiving applications for re-affiliation from all of our 30+ Oregon-based charities, as well as the dozens of national EarthShare member charities.  Our work within the environmental community, and our promise to our donors, is to ensure that every dollar donated through EarthShare benefits nonprofits that are doing their work and doing it responsibly. We scrutinize their financial information, audits and stories about current projects to confirm that donors' dollars are making positive environmental change in Oregon and around the world.

A few recent accomplishments by EarthShare Oregon members, made possible by our donors, include:

• Friends of Trees just planted its 400,000th tree in the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA region. This organization mobilizes volunteers to plant trees that improve their neighborhoods' livability, sequester carbon, and increase wildlife habitat.
• WaterWatch, Siskiyou Project, and many other EarthShare groups saw their efforts to remove fish-killing dams on the Rogue River succeed with the recent removal of Gold Ray Dam in Southern Oregon. The Rogue River now flows freely from the Lost Creek Project to the Pacific Ocean for the first time in 106 years – a distance of 157 miles.
• Oregon Environmental Council saw its successful Eco-Healthy Child Care certification program for day care providers go national recently. Its certification program, originally local to Oregon, was sought after from as far away as Australia. The help and services this program provides will now be available nationwide.
