Can we make our world better? Safer? More stable? ABSOLUTELY. EarthShare contributions are making it happen.
So much of our news in the Pacific Northwest has been dominated by things we feel powerless to control.
Forest fires are the most obvious. But drought, high water temperatures killing our native fish, and heat waves are also making their presence known.
I feel so much more able to face these big, hairy problems -- because I know that EarthShare member charities, and the donation I make through EarthShare Oregon, are actively working to prevent these things from affecting our lives.
Renewable Northwest is bringing more and better renewable energy sources to the region -- allowing us to move further away from fossil-fuel-based energy sources.
1000 Friends of Oregon is actively defending Oregon's land use laws, and working to make it so that our communities, our transportation systems, and our daily lives generate less greenhouse gas emissions.
The Freshwater Trust is protecting our rivers by building new, 21st century conservation tools and technologies that actually restore ecosystems, and then implementing those solutions on real waterways.
Northwest Earth Institute is launching its annual EcoChallenge in October -- mobilizing thousands of people (maybe you?) to lessen their impact on the Earth by challenging yourself to a new environmental action.
These issues seem big. But they can be brought down to size when we support EarthShare Oregon. Your donations are tackling big problems from all angles. Thank you for giving -- and for being part of the movement to stabilize our climate.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
