EarthShare charities renew their commitment to you

By Meghan Humphreys | Director of Workplace Activities

EarthShare supporters are making our state better!
EarthShare supporters are making our state better!

EarthShare Oregon member charities just renewed their membership in our federation recently, and when they did, they also provided lots of great stories and examples of the ways in which they make our state more livable and keep Oregon the place we all want to live.

For example:

1000 Friends of Oregon began supporting the Rogue Valley Food System Network, an initiative that connects farmers, distributors, store owners, and more to get fresh local produce into the hands of people around the state. The network has successfully introduced “Rogue Valley grown” produce and labels into various grocery stores.

BRING Recycling worked with 38 new businesses in Lane County through its RE:Think Business program, providing free, confidential advice and support on practical ways to minimize waste and save money. Those businesses implemented more than 300 recommendations and are saving resources in their everyday operations.

Willamette Riverkeeper organized the 6th Annual Great Willamette Cleanup, involving more than 800 volunteers at 24 sites, who worked for a combined total of 2,500+ hours cleaning up more than 200 miles of the Willamette River watershed. The trash haul collected 12 TONS of garbage from the river and its shoreline.

The Sierra Club partnered with fishing groups and led a campaign to protect critical salmon and wildlife habitat in the Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests. This campaign resulted in an unprecedented new protection for state lands called "high value conservation areas."

There are so many ways your donation to EarthShare Oregon is protecting the landscapes, way of life, and state we all love. A gift will benefit all 80 charities in our network and the crucial work they do for everyone, every day.
