2000 students in Nairobi, in dire need of toilets

As part of our WASH program: we are requesting you to support us in constructing 6 modern toilets for 2000 vulnerable students in Kariobangi slums, Nairobi. Most of them have always suffered from cholera and typhoid. They do not also concentrate on their studies as the place they use as toilet stinks all the time. Their hygiene, health and performance shall improve when toilets with proper sewer system are built for them. Thank you in advance for supporting this noble course.

The slum communities face economic hardship, they can rarely afford three meals a day, they live in dilapidated structures. The schools in Kariobangi slums are poorly constructed; children feel uncomfortable in classrooms. There are no toilets, the one toilet available has poor sewerage system, and human waste spills all over. Most of the students have suffered from water borne diseases. This project will benefit 2000 students directly and 30,000 slum dwellers indirectly.

The students will have enough toilets with proper sewerage system; they will wash their hands, this will eradicate water borne diseases, improve their hygiene and enable them concentrate on their studies hence better results. The slum communities will drink fresh water free from contaminated human waste. This will improve their health.

Long-Term Impact

Their will be improved health and hygiene in the community. The learners will be able to do well in their exams.
