MH has had an office in Phnom Penh since 2010 and has developed a program that is at the forefront of preventing child family separation and supporting women with unplanned or unwanted pregnancies. Our clients in the Province will be offered the same quality care with this branch in Battambang. Services at this new center will include: counseling, referrals, food and housing, medical care, family mediation, alternative care options, vocational training, job placement and more.
Women from a multitude of vulnerable backgrounds such as sexual exploitation, physical and emotional health problems, orphaned, addictions, rape, underage, HIV positive, poverty, etc. find themselves with crisis pregnancies and there were no services available for this vulnerable population. These women's vulnerabilities are compounded when they become single and pregnant and because they live in a society with gender discrimination that ostracizes and stigmatizes single women who are pregnant.
- Women will have choices when faced with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy so she can choose the best future for herself and her baby. - Single pregnant women will have the skills to parent their child and have access to job placement. - Have safe deliveries, good nutrition and counseling through the pregnancy. - Women will have access to vocational training, small business and job placement. - Mothers will be aware and informed of their choices as they prepare for their future.
- Diminishing gender inequality by giving single mothers access to training and job placement - Women can be valued member of society and to provide for her child - Teaching women to self-advocate and educating women to access services in her community - Improving general knowledge about reproductive health, parenting and mother and baby care - Family preservation giving babies a forever family
