Help 1000 Girls Manage their Days in Kasese

From the age 12-16 most young girls experience their Menstrual Periods for their 1st time. As a result they feel embarrassed when accidentally they find their Menses in either class,or Playground without any preventive tool to stop bleeding,Innocent and ignorant about Menstruation, they end up using grass, sponges, feathers, soil, handikerchiefs, and pieces of Paper. Some end up being mocked, nicknamed and laughed at. Your support will help provide Sustainable Sanitary Pads and reduce School dropouts

Having seen that Menstruation has a negative impact on Girl Child Education, MDIH started providing Menstrual kits for her Orphans, however data showed that other girls from poor families besides lacking training on Menstrual health were also not provided with Sanitary Pads, instead they find themselves using tissue Paper, Clothes, Sponges of old Mattress and grass. To solve this, MDIH therefore started Making & Providing reusable pads to 1000 girls every year to support girl Child Education.

This Project will create free access to Sustainable, Washable and Reusable feminine Pads to School Girls from Poor families. It will also help eliminate the use of unhygienic pads like grass, soil, feathers, goat's skin and tissue Paper and be provided with comfortable Pads that creates Joy while in class, playground or even at home. This Project will also involve trainings on Menstrual Health Management, so it will create awareness on when Periods are expected and how to safely handle them.

Long-Term Impact

Empowering Girls to take Control of their bodies and initiating a broader dialogue to eliminate Stigma and Shame. - Reducing the estimated 50% of girls who Miss School due to their Menses. - These Products will bring down sanitation problems arising from poor disposal of the normal sanitary pads by reducing the number of disposable pads entering the landfill, as kits last up to 3 years. This Project will provide Superior feminine hygiene protection and Comfort since pads are of high Quality
