Hey Everyone,
This summer, Banker and I traveled with the puppet back to California. We went to film in Carmel Valley, taking our direction from a story Yo had told us many times.
I had been to Garland Park many times when I lived in Pacific Grove, but somehow never made it to the top. It felt like we found a portal back to the 1960’s as we left cell service and used a paper map to climb to the spot Yo described in her story.
Along the way, we found an oasis where we could film our puppet butterflies alongside real ones. At the top, we found ourselves in a field of dry grasses that moved like the ocean surface in the wind. I always expect the California wilderness to be beautiful, yet it still surprised me how spectacular it was to experience it again.
Looking forward to the next adventure Yo takes us on.
Signing off for now,
Anna
