Challenge

The health promotion project gives the community an opportunity to be taught, and be trained to become health promoters. It provides the with skills to lead others and get a job in health care delivery and earn their own livelihood. By doing this they get self employment and economic independence as well as basic education in health and hygiene issues. The project also provides prevention medicine and rehabilitative health services to the poor people living in Baringo

Solution

Kenya experiences a huge unmet need for healthcare training of healthcare providers. Needs are unmet both in qualitative and quantitative. The shortage of sufficient quality tertiary education in the medical field contributes significantly to the poor health of most Kenyans. Health care services are unequally distributed within rural areas being undeserved compared to urban areas. The project aims to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services to poor people living in Baringo

Long-Term Impact

Empowerment to the community which leads to better health and health education for themselves, families and their children. Eradicates poverty in their families families, reduces health problems and add value to health care workforce crisis which leads to retrogressive progress of the Country's Millennium Development goals 5 & 6 "IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH & COMBAT HIV/AIDS & other DISEASES." The project programme aims to grow into a reputable organization reaching at least 5000 households.
