This project will serve an underprivileged population of children in Venezuela, where access to healthcare is scarce. The aim is to offer medical and dental care to a population of approx 1000+ children. Chamos Charity will fund different programs to provide communities with 40 or more medical professionals who will carry out vaccination days, checkups, water purification sessions, perform specialised medical consultations, and administer much needed medicines and treatments to the patients.
Venezuela is going through a severe humanitarian crisis. Conditions have worsen due to lack of electricity. Medical facilities and professionals are often very limited or non existent. Sanitary measures are very basic in the whole country, which aggravates the critical situation. Children are amongst the most vulnerable, they're not protected by national vaccination programs and many of them die from easily preventable diseases. Even the most basic medical care can be life changing for them.
Chamos will provide rural and urban areas with medical programs. A team of medical professionals will perform medical and dental check ups, diagnostic consultations, carry out minor surgical procedures and provide medicines, clean water and vaccinations to over 1000 people. The team will provide health education sessions to parents/caregivers to prevent illnesses and reduce mortality amongst the children. They will collect and analyze data to improve areas of care and to boost follow up visits.
Chamos' ultimate goal with this program is to improve the health and lifespan of the children which will benefit their developmental process. However, there's an urgent need which we should attend to avoid illnesses and losing more lives. Chamos plans to keep children as healthy as possible and empower communities by providing them with necessary tools to improve their children's general health. Our aspiration is to invest towards reducing poverty and contribute to the development of Venezuela.
