The Balkan Lynx (Lynx Lynx) is listed on the red list of IUCN. In Albania it is thought that they can be 2 or 3 couples and it is almost going extinct. The lynx in the picture is caught in a loop in northern Albania and it is kept isolated in a severe condition as some of its bones are injured. This may be the only individual, because only 2 couples are thought to exist. We seek to interfere through surgical intervention to rehabilitate this individual species at risk.
A lynx has been caught in a loop in the district of Shkodra, which, according to the specialists, may be one of the two couples of lynxes found in Albania. The lynx is injured in its leg and it is kept in captivity in a very severe condition. The state has not intervened and this lynx is in serious condition and it may die. We seek to make a surgery intervention on this lynx, to rehabilitate it and release it in the field.
The project will realize the recovery and the rehabilitation of the lynx, which is the only individual actually identified in the country. After this process we will release it in the field, rescuing this animal from the state of captivity in which it is at present. The project is of great value for the preservation of 2 couples of lynxes that can be found in our country.
The project will rehabilitate one of the rarest species in the world, namely the Balkan Lynx (Lynx Lynx). The project will eliminate scenes of wildlife in captivity. The project will create survival opportunities for the endangered species, which is at risk of extinction. The project will have a positive impact on the community, not to keep the wild animals in captivity.
