Quarter Report on Literacy Program
Last quarter we enrolled 97 kids into the program, most of the kids are from vulnerable families that cannot afford the basic needs, HCU hence provides them with food, stationaries and knowledge. The kids are getting lessons in English, sciences, mathematics and social studies. We have 4 different classes for the kids.
At the moment we are not carrying out the technology and DJ classes, because we lack computers for the activity. We have plans for new computers in mid-2025 thanks to a Swiss private sponsor.
Quarter Report on Girl Power / Reproductive Health
We where able to reach 400 members from 3 communities on reproductive health, we are carrying out a training on menstrual health, sexually transmitted diseases, family planning and Human rights and dignity at household levels. Women purchase sanitary packs, with reusable pads and soaps made by their peers as a part of the Uplift program: you can see the women in both photos showing their new health packs!
Communities reached are Lukodi, Ayilla and Gira Gira.
Pictures below are from Lugosi village.
