The second meeting of the Aflatoun teacher training program, took place in January in the facilities of Dr. José María Álvarez Foundation. The meeting was attended by the project coordinators in each of the institutions of the Red EDUCA where the program is taught. Besides presenting the progress of implementation of the program and the planning of activities for 2 months, there was a moment for exchanging points of view on the situations that arise at each institution.
The Aflatoun program is a methodology focused on educating children about their rights, responsibilities and management of its financial resources through social and financial education. This program has been successfully implemented in over 100 countries and EDUCA is the first partner in Mexico.
In February the training for teachers that took place at the Instituto de Educación Integral, I.A.P., Juan Pablo II, in the Querétaro State, was conducted with the issues of self-knowledge, rights and responsibilities, saving and spending, planning and budgeting, as well as social and financial enterprise.
With the addition of 385 children and 14 teachers from this institution to Aflatoun, now a total of 1,485 children and 57 teachers from 7 institutions are implementing the program through EDUCA.
