Tech Challenge Test Trials are Underway

By Karen Toste | Director, Annual Fund

A team tests their device for the judges

With just over a month until our 2017 Tech Challenge, young engineers have been busy testing their devices at our test trial events. Test trials provide an opportunity for teams to test their solutions on competition rigs and get feedback from judges. It can be helpful to see what other teams are doing and find ideas that could lead to design improvements.

You may recall from an earlier update that this year’s teams were challenged to design and build a device to help explorers cross an ice field with multiple ravines – a project inspired by the very first Tech Challenge 30 years ago.

At our showcase weekend on April 29 & 30, the program’s big finale, teams will be interviewed by judges, demonstrate their devices on a test rig, and present their engineering journal. It is an incredible event enjoyed by participants, advisers, family and friends!

Thank you for your continued support of this wonderful program.
