The principal goal is to assist in the integration of ex-inmates by increasing their abilities and capabilities to function in a socially acceptable manner, thereby reducing their reliance on criminal tendencies. Basically, we are developing a halfway-house project to be fully equipped with modern facilities and equipment that will facilitate the ex-inmates transition, accommodation and feeding as well as empowerment. The ex-inmates will be properly trained to acquire functional skills.
The inmates who are released from Nigerian Prisons are entirely destitute and if there is no proper arrangement to roll them back to the society, they will further constitute nuisance in the community, hence we are developing a realistic plan for their future, introducing them to the society after they have successfully completed their training and withdrawing when the process of empowerment is fully completed,ex-prisoners in all age group need this kind of assistance.
Providing the ex-offender with the basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter is undoubtedly more humane than returning him to the community with no thought to his ability to locate a job or a place to live.
Facilitating ex-inmates adjustment is expected to reduce the stigma, prejudice and restiveness in our communities, the opportunity provided to get them firmly on their feet, while making realistic plans for their future should reduce post-release criminal behaviors.
