Summary

The Foundation plans to educate 100 young women in Nigeria on business and leadership skills for a profitable livelihood. The project bridges the gender inequality gap in society and rehabilitates victims of sexual violence (rape), and drugs abuse. The business and leadership training has a curriculum that includes strategizing, effective communication, training/coaching, delegating, ethical values, innovation, and mentoring alongside mental fitness to enable them to thrive in a safe space.

Challenge

In Nigeria, women marginalisation and low participation in leadership and business are due to patriarchal attitudes of the culture and social norms. It influences the presence of women in leadership and business life. According to the International finance corporation (IFC), women makeup 20% of executive teams in Nigeria and represent 17% of Board Chairs. No company listed on the Nigerian exchange has a female CEO and CFO. The average percentage of women in the workforce is 33%. Nigerian society

Solution

The scheme will provide positive social change and equip young women to become entrepreneurial leaders. It would develop competencies and equip with business and leadership skills. While learning to understand leadership better, they would learn the qualities and mindset required to be effective. The training borders on innovation and creativity, along with conflict resolution or management, which will help the women acquire self-mastery, creative skills and attain excellence in leadership.

Long-Term Impact

The project will empower young women, improve their self-worth, and equip them with entrepreneurial skills for livelihood. The average percentage of women in workforce will increase. Develop competencies to navigate the challenges facing women leaders in society. It would also encourage positive collaborations among women. The project will reinvent and position the women in top management positions, leveraging their strengths and assets.
