This project is aimed at making/greening at least 200 institutions by planting over 200,000 trees. In turn over 200,000 students will be trained on environmental conservation topical issues, hence a reflection of 200,000 households.
There is lack of environmental awareness within the communities living in Baringo county, Kenya. This is observed by the overall climate change within the region. Given that 60% of the county is semi arid, there is need to educate its residents on issues affecting the climate change. To effect the vice, our project has targeted the schools, where students will be educated on all environmental knowledge, and in turn, they (students) will take the message home.
Over 200,000 students will be trained, hence over 200,000 households will be reached, and get the message over environmental conservation. Over 200,000 trees will be planted in schools, and this will contribute positively over micro-climate of the county. Woodlots will be established in the households, hence, the communities will be sustainably independent on firewood needs.
200 schools will be made green and be protected from environmental risks like windfalls. The overall micro-climate will change. The rain patterns will change and hence increase due to dense vegetation cover. Over 200,000 students will be trained and have full knowledge on environmental conservation, applicable in their house home yards
