March 2012 Report in Chinese
This season, we asked our intern to write and translate this update for you –
I am a graduate student from Beijing currently studying at NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center, and have been working with Green Map System since February. I’d like to share some news and updates about this organization’s China Projects. Thank you for supporting this project!
Here are some of the projects I have undertaken:
First, the poster for Green Map Icons Version 3 has been translated into simplified China in two versions: the global version and the local version. The global version contains the comprehensive 169 globally designed icons introduced in the original version, which will be used to serve Chinese-speaking people in the global Green Map community. The local version is being used to serve the Green Map community within Mainland China. It’s a little shorter! You can download both below, along with a link to the iconography's overview.
Second, the Green Map Icons are being expanded this year, with the involvement of all Green Mapmakers. The invitation to participate in the expansion has been translated into Chinese, and the message has been spread out among Chinese Green Mapmakers; gratefully, we have received some feedbacks about the ideas for our new icons. Watch for more news about this later in the year. We welcome your ideas for new icons we need to highlight new sustainability trends.
In next newsletter, we will inform you about the Green Map Archive process and other outreach to Chinese Green Mapmakers currently underway at Green Map System's office.
