Project Report April 23

Workshop on training and sustainable professional integration

The Nubian Vault Association in collaboration with the General Directorate of Vocational Training (DGFP) organised a workshop on training and sustainable vocational integration on December in Ouagadougou for the benefit of about fifty people.

This workshop aimed to :
- Raise participants' awareness of the main challenges of vocational training and green and sustainable employment in the Sahel;
- Present to the participants, in response to these challenges, the content and outline of a strategic document developed by AVN in collaboration with the DGFP;
- To discuss the opportunities/threats for the implementation of this strategy
- To enable participants to better situate their possible involvement in the implementation of this strategy (financing, institutionalisation, certification etc.)

This workshop brought together the national project team, the partners involved in the design and drafting of the strategic note as well as the technical and financial partners, i.e. various ministerial representatives (employment, vocational training, environment), donors and NGOs. It brought together 45 participants, including 8 AVN participants.

This workshop was a success both in terms of the presentations made, the feedback, debates and exchanges, and the impact obtained in terms of communication for AVN (increased visibility, recognition of the programme, presence of significant donors for fundraising).

AVN would like to encourage the implementation of this type of multi-stakeholder workshop/roundtable on the issues of vocational training and sustainable employment in other countries, to pursue the institutionalization of vocational training (CQB/CQP certification, inclusion of VN pro training courses in national strategic documents, etc.) and the recognition of the VN eco-construction sector, for better support from the major international donors who finance vocational training and employment nationally.
