Project Solar Bulb Trial was carried out in late December 2011. A team of GC ers, lead by Sarah Seraj, selected a tinned house (provided by Sheltech - a partner of GC), and installed the solar bulb. I am glad to let you all know that it went really well and we are very optimistic about the impacts of installing solar bulbs at a larger scale across Dhaka. Right now we are also still monitoring some important factors such as - its effectiveness during the rainy season, the number of hours it will work after sunset etc.
A team of GCers, lead by Zeeshan Alam, is also working on selecting potential slum areas in Dhaka where the bulbs can be installed in late June 2012.
