Fighting the cause of poverty through skill training in artisan, science & technology, trading or business, art & culture economic empowerment in western region, the oil city of Ghana where orphans and vulnerable children, HIV/AIDS, STIs, mortality rate, immorality and crime rate keep on increasing among youth in the community due to poverty. However, to fight this poverty is to engage youth in skill training to have self-employment , educating them as well as tools/machine for their training.
Poverty enhance the problem listed below in the general population mostly youth; Rampant case of teenage pregnancy, High rate of school drop out due to financial constraint, Lack of skills and technical know-how to cope with the changing trend of technology and development to be self dependent, The high rate of people dying from diseases such as Malaria, Typhoid and STIs. Increase in unemployment, Inability of medical care during pregnancy and after delivery increase mortality rate.
Through skill acquisition training in any area of their choice in artisan, science and technology, art and culture, buying and selling, professional trained volunteers will be used in their various communities center to give training to the beneficiaries, comprehensive education on sexual reproductive health right, orientation and awareness on the need for positive behavioral change, counseling and psychosocial support, one on one private discussion to better understand individual problems.
Skill acquisition gives employment and enhance human empowerment, consequently promote economy development, educative intervention goes along with the training on sexual reproductive health right to better solve the problem of teenage pregnancy, human empowerment will give access to medical attention for their health, beneficiaries will be able to cater for their children or younger ones on their education after they might have completed the training and set up on their own, it promote peace.
