Sport  Nigeria Project #32960

Golf Clinic for 100 Kids in Nigeria

by Global Youth Leadership and Girl-Child Foundation

Summary

The game of Golf is an elitist sport thereby exclusive to the rich and the privileged. I believe Golf is a life game and should be for everyone especially children and youths, this is the future of the game. Learning this game, knowing and loving it will enrich the lives of high school students in the rural setting like Elekuru and its environs. I invite you to support me in the recruitment and training of 100 high school boys and girls in Elekuru Village Ibadan, Nigeria. Thank you

Challenge

Rural Children are living on the dull side of life, with no electricity, good water, sanitation and quality education. The game of Gold will provide them a link to the urban world.

Solution

The Game of Golf will open Elekuru village to urban rich and privileged people who will have interaction with the children, their parents and the community. This opportunity will open up the community for other development opportunity.

Long-Term Impact

The children involved in this program and by extension their family and friends will have their social status raised. This will improve their education and inspire them to achieving greater heights in their academic, occupational and professional pursuits in the future.
