The TakingITGlobal team would like to offer a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to our professional development program to support educators in emerging countries to take part in our e-courses. We are incredibly grateful for your support! Here is a quick update on how your donation is helping real people from around the world.
Since September, we received a total of $4799 in Global Giving donations towards Professional Development and Capacity-Building. We have since offered scholarships to three young leaders from South America for our “Education for Environmental Stewardship” e-course. One young lady from Argentina named Grisel has contributed very interesting perspectives, as well as a global dynamic to the course. We believe this has been, and will continue to be, a great learning experience for Grisel and our other scholarship recipients.
The donations from our Global Giving campaign have already helped these young people, who will pass along what they have learned to their peers and students. Having a diverse group in our e-courses also provides the opportunity for great cross-cultural collaborations between educators. As such, these funds have a collateral effect – they are going a long way in improving global education!
We will continue to sponsor scholarships from the Global Education Professional Development fund for educators who demonstrate financial need, especially those from Least Developed Countries. As we launch a new cycle of e-courses this November, we hope you will keep updated with our fundraising campaign, as well as pass it along to your friends and family for extra support.
Thank you so much for the important part you have played in advancing global and environmental education worldwide!
