The Good Samaritan Children Home (GSCH) provides residence to a number of vulnerable children including those orphaned by HIV/AIDS, homeless children, and abused children. GSCH hosts 300 children: 20 young children, 10 children in nursery to pre-school, 100 primary school children, 52 high school students and 128 college going students. High school and other students must have a pair of shoes going for $10.00. The GSCH has meager resources. Children without shoes are sent home and stigmatized.
With every $10 sent to the GSCH, one more child is able to remain in school and more funds may be spent on health and nutrition for the entire Good Samaritan Children's Home
The city of Nairobi and the country will benefit in that more children will go to school and receive an education. It has been proven that education raises communities and countries out of poverty. Three hundred children will be affected directly.
