Thanks a lot to all global giving fundraisers for the effort done in keeping these young girls in schools.
As the project is stilling moving on different schools have been visited and supported with sanitary towels to decrease girl dropout, absenteeism and bad performance. But the problem still persists due to high demand by different schools and the already supported schools.
Kabudabuda primary school is in Mpumudde Sub County, Kabudabuda P/S is among the schools that received sanitary towels to keep young girls in schools with the help of funds from global giving. We had a chance of meeting their senior lady who narrated the problems affecting these young girls whenever this time comes. The senior lady said, there is a decline in performance due to absenteeism from class every month due to the fear of being laughed at and being stigmatized by fellow children most especially boys leading to bad performance by girls, some girls drop out from school leading to early marriages because their parents might think they are mature enough and some tend to keep in bushes because they lack what to use since the school cannot afford providing them. It was a sad moment because few girls were found in classes compared to the number of girls registered by the school. Though we provided the girls with the sanitary towels, we also attached our trainer to go ahead and do a training in making washable sanitary towels which is to be done as soon as possible.
Great thanks to all that make this contribution to the project.
