SAGE Applications have been distributed throughout Guyana, with particular attention towards reaching interior areas of the country. Scholars must complete a return their applications to the University of Guyana by May 29th 2011. We are looking forward to having a greater number of applicants, representing the diversity of the country.
The fundraising committee began a new initiative to reach out to Guyanese organizations in the New York, New Jersey area, in order to garner support and create partnerships in the Guyanese-American community. We are looking forward to finding new ways to fund our projects, and connect further to Guyanese in the states and forge deeper connections on the ground in Guyana.
As we continue to expand, we would also like to welcome two new volunteers, Rachel Norberg and Catherine Brill! They were also Worldteach Volunteers in Guyana, who have donated to SAGE in past, and have decided to continue to give back by dedicating their time to SAGE. Our team continues to grow!
Please look for future reports on the status of our applicants as we select our next SAGE scholar.
