From January to April, we have been interacting with some youth from two communities in the Northern Region of Ghana. The two communities, namely Yong and Laligu benefited by receiving soccer balls and some of the children also got fairly used clothes and soccer cleats.
In Yong, a team was established call Yong Stars. This team comprises of young boys 14 years and below. They train on a regular basis during the week and on weekend some of them are added to the amateur team which plays in a league. Some of the boys who have educational lapses were also helped twice a week.
For Laligu community, they did not have any team at all for boys 14 years and under. Therefore, a new team was formed called Conquerors.
After weeks of training, both teams played a home and away soccer match with Yong winning on both occasions.
We are hoping to continue helping them not only build their soccer skills but also develop spiritually and mentally.
Your continuous support is necessary to help these boys build a solid foundation. Please we welcome donations in-kind as well in the form of sports equipment or educational materials.
