Trinity Project has had another successful quarter, and would like to thank you all for your continued support.
Trinity works to empower and protect women and children to actively realise their rights to inheritance and property, birth registration and access to their relative’s death certificate. The overall aim of the programmes was to build stronger and better communities that respect women and child rights.
The organisation strives to ensure that children are educated for life through various interventions which include operating an office drop-in legal advice and counselling centre, household based programming or house visits to clients, mobile legal advice clinics, national radio programmes, weekly newspaper articles, stakeholder capacity building workshops, kids clubs, kids days, church based awareness raising programming and community empowerment workshops and awareness raising campaigns. These interventions are designed in such a way to ensure maximum support to the vulnerable members of the community in the process fostering sustainable community development conducive for effective child development.
During this quarter, 54 new families have had home visits, with 50 new cases received. 186 old clients also benefitted from home-based programming, attending to 271 cases. There have been 8 legal advice clinics, reaching 223 families and receiving 218 new cases. 129 families have benefitted from our office drop-in service, leading to 201 new cases. As you can see, your support is still vital as we continue to reach more and more vulnerable people.
27 young people have successfully obtained birth certificates this quarter, with 3 more in the process of obtaining documents.
Psychosocial support clubs, which provide safe fun space which encourage child participation and education on legal rights, have been continued this quarter. This quarter, there have been 55 sessions reaching 2294 children. These are a vital way of interacting with the next generation, as NGOs are not allowed into Zimbabwean schools. However, we do not currently have adequate finances or resources to use with the vast number of children who benefit from these sessions. Your support could help us provide creative materials, skipping ropes or toys to allow children to have fun, express themselves, and gain awareness of their rights.
Trinity also conducted 42 sensitisation meetings, reaching 636 children and 1653 adults to raise awareness and facilitate community dialogue.
In addition to its fantastic work with beneficiaries, 30 Trinity volunteers have received training on legal registration this quarter.
Trinity continues to grow and support more and more vulnerable people to realise their rights. Thank you for your support!
