Dear esteemed supporters and donors,

I bring you greetings from The Odwar Fund.

The story of a rural child who has never thjought of being in school is incredible when they start to join their frieds who started school earlier and more so the idea that parents need to be at the center of trheir children's education is a paradigm that every one in the village is working hard to cope up with and that is what for this repoert I am calling "the making of a school child"

Most parents in rural areas find early childhood development training a real nightmare considering that they have to ensure that a child who traditionally should actually not yet be in school now have to start school as a Baby class pupil. In our traditional set up,children start school at seven (7) years but with the introduction of early childhood education, the child now has to start school at three (3) years, this is something both the parent and the child find completely new and efforts must be made to ensure that both like the new lifestyle.

Day one of the child in many cases start without uniform with most rural parents saying " even at 3 years am already to buy uniform for the child?,by the time they turm 12,how many uniforms will i have bought for the child?" To the child they feel that being in school is a real prison and burden but as soon as they get to class, the love from the teacher is what catches their attention first. One child remarked after returning home on first day attending Yaweh Yiireh Nursery and Primary school where The Odwar Fund sends children " Mummy my teacher hugged me today and said she loves me so much,I think i should go back tommorow to see my teacher" Indeed even the mother was impressed. Another child on realising that porridge is served at school yet at home all parents go away to the garden and leave them alone,he said " Mummy, for us we take porridge at school so you will need to take me very early tommorrow because i dont want to miss my porridge". All these are very encouraging episodes in the making of a school child.

In the area of uniform for those whose parents can not afford uniform at all and The odwar is offering to give them through support of the donorss, the children always enjoy putting them on and they say " I love my new clothe,i think i should use it for church on sunday as well"

The beuty of seeing young children join school and grow through the stages is very encouraging and i want to assure our supporters that the valueable dollars that you commit ensures that this is made possible and the greater god is for our next generation as they will have responsible children who have been through school.

Please,I implore you to continue putting these children in your thoughts and indeed the needs are still great and we are hopefl that your continued support will allow more children to enjoy the beuty of being in school and moving through the stages of making of a school child which is indeed the " making of a responsible citizen" who will contribute to the growth and development of Uganda.

I want to thank you and pray that you keep us in your thoughts

Dear Esteemed supporters and donors,

It is always a thrilling experiences to talk about the incredible difference your contribution is making in the Lives of girls in Uganda.

It may not make much sense to many of you but the issues of girls' education in a uganda is a big issue to the extent that once a young girl manages to reach A'level,a stage that is a precursor to University eduation,it is a serious news.

One of the two girls in our program who is sitting her A'level exams this November remarked" I am extreemly humbled and exceedingly glad that i am able to sit my final A'level exams this November, besides being a step that will usher me into University where i hope to persue Economics and take part in the economic development of my country, the l;evel i have reached will prove to the rest of my fellw girls out there that it is indeed possible to make it to A'level without being compromised by pressures of pregnancy, early marriage and cultural barriers,I am so grateful to The Odwar Fund supporters for the continued support and encourages that ensures we are able to climb the academic lader"

Dear supporters, your continued donations ensures that we can free more girls to be able to go to school and achieve their aspirations. According to UNESCO,Uganda has got the highest drop out rate for girls in East Africa and some of the reasons include and are not limited to Early marriages, tenage pregnancy, hidden costs of being in school, poverty, bad cultures among others and some of these are issues The Odwar Fund continues to deal with on continuing basis and we thank you that your contributions ensures that these activities take place.

It is our humble appeal that even as we see new girls enroll in schools, the need to continue increasing our network of welwishers and supporters can ot be overstated, for that reason,I invite you to make the grils' issues in uganda our issues and spread the word regarding the current needs that remain high so that we can continue to have resources to support the needs on the ground.

I want to thank you once again for your selfless contributions and hope that we can continue to share this visions and offer a new lease of life for our next generation of leaders.

Dear our esteemed Donors and supporters,

Greetings from The Odwar Fund!

It is indeed a privvilage once again to be able to give you a brief report about what is happening in the field. The 2018 academic term has successfully opened and running very well.

The Odwar Fund has been able to send back to school 16 Students to different schools and universities and this is courtesy of our supporters and donors who tirelessly and relentlessly sacrifice their hard earned finances to ensure that children who would not otherwise get access to school are able to go to school.

On a very light note as well, one of The Odwar Fund supported students who did a Dipolma in logistics and procurement secured a job with Centenary Bank, one of the Top Banks in Uganda and indeed it is such joy to see individuals from very humble backgrounds begin to achieve their dreams and aspirations and are able to contribute to the growth and development of their country. This student remarked " A dream come true for me,what a privillage to be able to work for a Bank which is a leading Bank in supporting rural growth!,i can not be more hopeful for a full career in the Banking sector, thanks to The Odwar Fund and supporters".

Dear friends, here at The Odwar Fund we are always energeized by your continued support and we hope we could do better in reaching out to the most vulnerable in our society. It continues to be our humble appeal that your continued support and contribution will be required for us to continue the work we are doing,we therefore request that you do not relent in thinking about the work your contributions have set in motion and consider speaking to your circles regarding our work so that we can have more recurrent donors as a way of guaranteeing continuity of our efforts.

I want to sincerely thank you all for this partnership and indeed we are in this together, feelfree to drop us a line and make us know how you feel.

Kind regards!
