Gender based disparity in access to education is particularly prevalent in low socio-economic rural settings of rural Pakistan. ORDER plans to enroll 100 girls to elementary schools in secluded and neglected mountainous locations in northern Pakistan by providing them books, uniform, and meals.
The abject poverty in rural Pakistan transforms into gender based disparity in education as families channel their limited resources to educate boys who eventually become the bread earners for these families. Girls are usually restricted to the confines of the house and are deprived the basic right of education. ORDER plans to take the financial burden associated with girls' education away from families by enrolling girls to elementary schools and providing for their clothing, books, and meals.
The project will educate a hundred girls, transforming their lives and empowering them to become self-reliant, valued and productive members of the society in general and a source of pride and support for their families in particular. The project will also provide a model for replication and expansion helping and ensuring female education in a broader perspective.
