In 2022, G4CA aims to empower 170 girl/young women climate leaders through our programs in 3 cities (Jinja, Mbale and Kasese). Young women and girls suffer the impacts of climate change first hand. The project will bring together young women and girls from indigenous and marginalised communities to be trained in climate leadership, activism, adaptation, mitigation and movement building. These will be empowered to contribute to local decision making and holding their leaders accountable.
Environmental leaders often lack support, and resources. While many girls and women have green business solutions, they may not have the support or accompaniment to put solutions into action and develop professionally.
The project aims to accompany women leaders with green solutions via 'climate demonstration hubs'. These spaces bring bright minds together and with startup grants, tools, networking and resources, enable women leaders to succeed in bringing their solutions to their wider communities.
Contributes to building climate leaders in three Ugandan towns, growing a space for young leaders to emerge and work together. Over time solutions can be scaled to reach many citizens.
