Our passion is gifting smiles to the vulnerable children in Kilifi County. Our work involves restoring hope and a future to bright needy students through access to funding for education. We do this through calls on social media, call for support from well-wishers, scholarship funds and the community at large. Additionally, we do collect books , sanitary pads , geometrical sets and other school requirements in a bid to retain and support needy students in school.
The existing ideas that are used by the status quo to tackle hunger are not sufficient that is why Kenya is on the global hunger index. Our idea will tackle the underlying problems 1. Extreme poverty - it is caused by lack of education and lack of skills 2. Gender inequalities - where women are not allowed to inherit land, patriarchy based culture where girls are not educated and early child marriages. 3. Youth unemployment - the percentage of unemployed youth is growing fast.
We will provide Education scholarships to bright needy students and provision of sanitary pads and other school necessities including exam equipment, skill training to girls we rescue from Child marriage, we conduct an annual program dubbed Kilifi County for Higher Education which seeks to assist the Form Four leavers and school drop out transit to tertiary level of education and finally, sending books to break the cycle of poverty through our annual Gifting Smiles Book donation Project.
Our aim is to see zero% dropout and our capacity and resources are limited due to lack of funds to distribute information, training staff to deliver our aims and objectives and resources enough to cover the designated area. We aim at reducing the number of teenage pregnancies and Early child marriages to Zero% in Kilifi County. We wish to equip our youths with different skills to be able to be entrepreneurs.
