Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Institute works towards fulfilling of its mission of “Providing Quality Vision to All”. It has been touching numerous lives in this pursuit, by making high quality eye care accessible to the most vulnerable populations. In continuum of this, a series of free eye screening camps were organized in the region with a specific target on the unreached people.
Past three months have witnessed another pace in the direction of comprehensive eye care. 83 Free Eye Camps were organized in remote rural and tribal villages around Udaipur benefiting over 7500 eye patients for various eye ailments, majority of them being cataracts. 1639 patients were operated upon for various eye diseases.
While creating awareness for eye care camps and community programs, our team has also done extensive door to door screening. A personalized approach has been incorporated to enhance health seeking behavior amongst local villagers who otherwise are illiterate and avoid taking eye health as priority. Field workers have screened patients at their door steps.
