A great first year!

Thanks to the 17 donations received since we started using Globalgiving, we've raised more than $10,000 to support our kids. This money was used to subsidize our financial aid program for 8 kids in preschool through 3rd grade. We have many more families who are serious about joining our school, but our resources don't suffice. Please consider helping. These 8 families are thrilled with their experience at GSP and are excited to continue. I joined many of them on a field trip to the zoo this spring and was very pleased with their social, language and academic progress.
Please consider helping us by making a donation to our financial aid support program. Every little bit helps and thanks again to our donors!

More need now than ever

With the end of the re-enrollment period now behind us, the finance committee is forced to begin reviewing financial aid applications for the 2010-11 school year.
The good news is that we have extremely high interest in our program from new families. Our continued goal is to make the GSP program available to anyone who really wants to attend.
The bad news is that many families interested in enrolling their children are not able to fully cover the tuition. Support for this effort through globalgiving is more crucial now than ever.
The financial aid committee will meet soon to review applications. Please support their juggling act between fiscal responsibility and financial aid applicants.
I look forward to the day when the school has significant financial reserves and/or an endowment to defray the lack of income for financial aid students. These children have every right to participate in our community. Please help make that a possibility.

Gaining Traction

Excellent progress has been made since our last report. We are now nearing enough donations to cover the cost of one student in our program for an academic year.
-more donors donated more money over the last quarter. globalgiving is becoming a regularly used avenue for our community members to donate
-more awareness of the school: new website (www.gspdx.org) design is creating a lot of social media comment and receiving great reviews from prospective families.
-most importantly, more kids being able to join our community.
Thanks much to all of you for helping us open our doors to more children.
