Over the last quarter, Light in Our Home, a Global Grassroots trained social venture, has provided training on family law to 45 more women and men. This most recent training has come at the recommendation of the district, which is an indicator of this team's leadership in their region. They have also succesfully worked to create an anti-GBV club in the local high school. Their upcoming plans inlude a training in their community on laws related to land and property rights, using local community members who have been trained in the past as role models to provide support across the new sectors they will reach.
Light in Our Home continues to advance its mission to address violence against women and children, in particular domestic violence and sexual abuse, which is exacerbated by poverty and women and girls' subsequent vulnerability.
Thank you for your contribution to Light in Our Home. This venture has now officially graduated from Global Grassroots' Academy for Conscious Change incubator. We will be retiring this venture from the GlobalGiving site because it is fully funded and operational. However we will endeavor to keep you updated on their progress and should the team prepare to expand their work, we will reach out for your support and partnership again.
The success of Light in Our Home is due to your support, and we invite you to consider contributing to Global Grassroots to help us sponsor other ventures like Light in Our Home: http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/conscious-social-change/.
