3 out of 10 deaf children of school going ages has gone through sexual abuses mostly by those know to them yet no one talks about it. The organization did a base line survey in 2014 in 4 school in central Kenya and found that 85% of deaf school going age has experienced some form of abuses. with sexual abuses leading with 40% and abuses at school at 20% abuses from unknown people at 15%. It complicated matters that the children feels free with their head teachers then their parents.
To educate 1200 Deaf school going children and their care givers in 5 schools in Kenya on rights of Person with Disability. Kenya Children Act for them to understand their rights and to eradicate stigma that is affecting parents and making them unable to protect their children. It will also make law enforcement officers to take such offenses seriously. It will bring attention of the whole country thus minimize on the abuses
The campaign will restore dignity and courage courage for the 1200 deaf children,their parents and the school heads.
