1. Project Activities carried out on reported period Establishment of Community project committee/CPC/ and users committee/UC/ Establishing a community project committee/CPC/ is a principal action on any project implementation of WCDO despite the fact that the organization has enormous and practical experience on it. The committee has a role in each and every stage of the project's activities starting from setting of eligibility criteria to screen the intended target group and over all on going activities till handover of the project on the basis of the project. The users committee /UC/ also one of the key task as CPC establishment these committees are elected from project users/beneficiaries after the beneficiaries screened by the CPC. The users committee has a role on managing, handover of the project and assuring of the benefits of the project on addressing the target beneficiaries as project action plan; and keeping the benefit of the community in a sustainable way. These CPC and UC committees are established and becoming functional in this project. Screening of project beneficiaries with active Participation of project stake holders The project holder, WCDO, in collaboration with Community project committee /CPC/ and signatory sector Offices selected the project beneficiaries based on the selection criteria that are prepared by CPC members together with WCDO. These project beneficiaries are screened with the two main objectives to utilize the produced stove for them and to produce the stove to the market so as to create job opportunity as an IGA. Accordingly, the intended beneficiaries are screened who are poor having low income female headed households having large family size and can actively participate in the project. Fifty/50/ women are screened by the CPC from those some of are living with HIV/AIDS. In general, the level of participation of the stake holders and the concerned government officials has being actively involved in every level of beneficiaries screening and others on going activities. Establishment of medium enterprise on 'MIRT' fuel saving stove production For a sustainable dissemination of improved cooking stoves a number of barriers have to be overcome which in one or the other way all deal with the problem of access and sustainability. WCDO has been taken an experience from different organizations who are working on improved fuel stove dissemination. Based on it, the establishment of the Producers/beneficiaries as an enterprise is highlighted by WCDO so as to give a multidirectional opportunity to meet the project objective in sustainable base.Currently, the policy of the country also encourages the principles of cooperatives to improve the livelihood of the people especially in urban area through creating job opportunities and enhance their level of income. All the 50 beneficiaries of the project are organized themselves in one medium enterprise and they give a name to their enterprise, "ARGENE" improved fuel saving stove producers medium enterprise" and the members of the enterprise also elect their management committees. The enterprise is established and certified through facilitation and recognition of the government office, Small and medium enterprise development office. As an enterprise the members are ready and capable enough to produce "MIRT" fuel saving stove due to the trainings and material supports that earned properly from WCDO: They are waiting the construction of their shade. Generally, this is a good achievement as a bridge for the success of the project in sustainable manner. The enterprise can continue by it self; however, the project phase out after the accomplishment of its life time the enterprise can get different financial support through loan from micro finance institutes when they need for further expansion. Provide training to target beneficiaries on Stove preparation and business skill Two trainings are provided to the project beneficiaries, on Business skill and 'MIRT' fuel saving stove preparation and utilization. At the begging of the training the project coordinator of WCDO brief in detail about the project objectives and best practical experience of others women cooperative on improved fuel saving production on other area. Cross cutting issues like gender and climate change also raised by the participants and discussed on issues; and the contribution of their enterprise to the climate change also discussed when they produce and utilize the improved fuel saving stoves besides improving their life style. As a whole, the trainees appreciate the training that provided to them.
