Early Childhood Development Program is an Program created and implemented by the NGO "FONDATION SECOURS UNIVERSEL" (FSU) in its Home Center for vulnerable and Orphan children called Mother Charity Orphanage . This year, the number of children enrolled doubled. It passed from 30 to 55 children because it enrolled needy children from the community of Sagbado-Lankouvi where FSU works. Sagbado-Lankouvi is located in the North-West of downtown of Lome, the Capital town of Togo, West Africa.
The children the NGO FSU receive in its home center Orphanage Mother Children are abandoned, and orphans children. Their mother passed away at their birth and the fathers are unknow. Some are from insane mothers or found abandoned by roadside or on public place at night like market place or disposal plant. Thus, this children require a particular cares and follow up from medical and educational levels because they show a certain delay in their mental and psychological development.
FSU by receiving this vulnerable children in its home center the Orphange Mother Children, takes totally care of them by assuring their food, clothing, education and medical cares. Thus to better meet their psychological issues, FSU sets up and implements a program called "Early Childhood Development Program" to see to the psychological education of these children by creating a nursery school in the home center in order to prepare them for primary school education.
The implemtation of this program gives a strong background to the children which prepares them in a good psychological environment in order to assure them a bright school education in the future.
