We are proud to share with our GlobalGiving supporters that the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation has planted more than 26,000 fruit trees in Uganda in 2021! Together with our wonderful local team and partners, we grew all of the trees for this year's project in our local nurseries. From there, the trees were planted and distributed to 56 participating groups, including schools, farmers cooperatives, low-income families, women's groups, and youth groups, along with educational workshops and tree care seminars.
Once these trees mature, they will provide over 1.4 million pounds of fresh fruit every year, as well as create over 5 million pounds of oxygen and sequester over 6.6 million pounds of air pollutants and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere annually. This is not only wonderful for Uganda but also for all of us as we fight for a clean and safe environment globally.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort. If you are able, please consider donating today in order to support our work in Uganda as we strive to provide fresh food, clean environments, and additional income for Ugandan families.
To a fruitful future,
The FTPF team
